In the latest issue of MCN, out Wednesday October 9, we’ve got the test every sports bike rider must read – which bike is fastest for Mr. Average?

We took eight of the best-selling middleweights and invited Stefan Bartlett, MCN’s Managing Editor in charge of road tests to try them for size.

We took Yamaha’s R6 and Thundercat, Honda’s CBR600FS and F, Kawasaki’s ZX-636R and ZZ-R600 and Suzuki’s GSX-R600 and GSX600F to Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire and let Bartlett put them through their paces.

Bartlett is a competent road rider, but he’s definitely not a knee-down hero. So which of our selection rewards a rider like him on the ” real-world ” Tarmac that Bruntingthorpe so cleverly mimics? You’ll have to turn to page 16 to find out…
