New TV show rebuilds classics

A new TV series on the Discovery Home & Leisure channel will feature two classic bike restorations.

” A Bike is Born: Harley ” will air at 7.30pm on August 30, and features engineering guru Mark Evans reconstructing a 1942 Harley-Davidson WLC. The bike, chassis number 42WLC3660 was built as part of the American war effort, and later appeared alongside Madonna in the film Evita.

The second show, ” A Bike is Born: Triumph ” sees Evans rebuild a 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120R, which was originally built for the American market and despatched to the Triumph Corporation in Baltimore. This programme will be shown at 9pm on September 9.

The show also include visits the Harley Centenary celebrations in Barcelona and takes a trip to the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
