Dartford Crossing bike-only lane for Brands

1 of 1

A bike-only lane will be in action on Sunday for this weekend’s World Superbike races at Brands Hatch, but it will only be in operation on the northbound route for those leaving the circuit.

Operators, Le Crossing, have confirmed that one lane will be bikes-only, and it will be towards the right-hand side of the M25 heading North, towards the Dartford tunnels.

At all other times, the normal system will be in place, and riders can only pass through the barriers one at a time, but still free of charge.

Recently there have been problems with bikers following friends and cars through the tolls and risking injury, as each vehicle needs to be logged individually by the barrier controllers. Some riders have had barriers hitting their helmets after attempting to follow other vehicles, and one rider was knocked from his Honda Goldwing.

There are no plans for any bike-only concessions for those travelling to the racing on Saturday or Sunday.
