British bike maker booms

CCM sales have grown by 50 per cent in the last year taking the British firm to 15th in the UK sales league – up 25 places on the year before.

The Lancashire-based firm says much of its success is down to the CCM 404 – a 400cc bike for on/off-road use that more and more owners also commute on. Growth of supermoto in general is helping.

The CCM 404 is now in the top five selling models in its sector. Demand at one stage was so high that manufacturing of other models in the range had to be temporarily suspended.
