£3000 of variety

It’s not too late to make a switch to a new bike in time for summer, and you can find a huge range to choose from in just a couple of minutes.

Just £3000 opens up everything from an all-purpose 600cc sports bike to a Swedish supermoto, with some exotic Italians in between. And it’s a great time to advertise your current bike with 50% off MCN adverts until July 30.

For £2800, you could get a bike that does everything well, in the shape of the Honda CBR600F. It’s done 11,000 miles, comes with an aftermarket can and the original, and it’s been Datatag’d to deter thieves.

Or if you’d like something exotic and red, for £2600 you can buy into the Ducati lifestyle with a 1999 Ducati 900SS. Taxed, tested and serviced and with 25000 miles on the clock.

To guarantee a conversation every time you stop at a bike meet, why not stay Italian, but take a look at the 1997 Laverda Formula 650? It’s at £2200, but it’s a darn site rarer than a five-year-old Ford Fiesta

Or you could sample one of the pinnacles of two-stroke engineering with the Aprilia RS250. It’s from 2000, so coming to the end of production of the famous race-inspired bikes. It’s got a claimed 8000 miles, and none of them on the track.

And if all of that seems too sensible and mainstream, why not take a look at the 1999 Husqvarna SM610S? Not only does it come with full supermoto kit, and an uprated front brake, but you also get a set of trail wheels and tyres if you fancy a trip off-road. And all for £2500.

Think you can find a better bargain or something more exotic? Take a look at Bikes For Sale and see what you can find…
