Council funds training

A forward-thinking local council is paying towards post-test training for riders.
Perth & Kinross Council has worked with GMTS Ltd rider training and John R.Weir Motorcycle Training to form Bike Plus.

The scheme offers one day of training within 12 months of passing the DSA test and has no age limit. The council pays either £55 or 50% of the cost (which ever is lower)

The course focuses on both low and high speed handling skills (especially cornering), night / poor weather riding and other road skills those attending may want to sharpen.

Have Your Say

The organisers say other councils are now showing interest and there’s a chance the scheme could roll out nationwide.

The council is also putting up bike-specific hazard warning signs.
