Hot deals we’ve spotted this week

Looking for a new bike? Dealers are reporting a rush through their doors in the early part of the year with us lot all starry-eyed about the 04 superbikes… but not so dazzled that we aren’t keen to cut a good deal.

Only the snow last month saw a brief dip in demand. Of course, all the focus on the 04 stuff means if you can live with the reduced snob value of doing without the very latest, there are brilliant new bike deals to be found.

In the last week we’ve spotted 03 R1s at under £6500, 03 RSV1000’s at under £6200 and CBR600RRs for under £6300. There are hot deals on Suzukis too – so good in fact that you can find an 04 GSX-R1000 for under £7200 (you’ll pay most of that for a new GSX-R750 at the moment). With a ZX-10R or 04 R1 going for £8395… the gap between a new Suzuki and the new Kawasaki and Yamaha looks vast.

We’re not saying you’ll find these prices at every dealer (and not all are official imports) but they are being widely advertised in MCN.

If it’s a bike for daily commuting convenience and long-distance touring comfort you’re after, you’ll find deals including a 23,000-mile 1992 Triumph Trophy 900 for £1900 and Honda Pan Europeans from as little as £2900.

We’re seeing learner bikes on offer from just £500 for a Yamaha RXS100 with SR125s starting at £895 at the moment. And £2000 will bag you a very fine Aprilia RS125.
