Ride with Foggy and new FP1

You could be riding alongside four-times WSB champion Carl Fogarty on Saturday May 8 when he debuts the road-going FP1 on a ride-out through London.

The Foggy Petronas Racing team boss will be riding the new road bike in what will be its first public showing outside of Malaysia, where the Petronas firm is based.

The ’Foggy Bike Ride’ event is in aid of the team’s official charity, the NSPCC, and is sponsored by bike insurance specialist Footman James. The ride leaves from London’s Ace Café, escorted by the Met’s `BikeSafe’ team and covers 15 miles to the Houses of Parliament. Each rider is expected to pledge around £100 to the cause and, last year, the inaugural ride generated funds of over £15,000 for the charity. Foggy said: “I am so pleased that I will be riding the Petronas FP1 on the Foggy ride. I am sure this will attract even more interest. I was really surprised by the number of people who came along last year and hopefully we can raise even more money for the NSPCC this year with an even greater turn-out.

” It was an amazing feeling to ride through the streets of London, with all the traffic stopped by our Met Police escort. I was always known as King Carl when I was racing and I certainly felt like a king all the way from the Ace Café to Westminster. “You can register for the Foggy Ride by ringing the NSPCC on 0207 825 2500 or emailing Dagmar Ulrich on dulrich@nspcc.org.uk
