Dakar charity ride

As everyone recoveres from the excesses of Chistmas. Tim Fransen from Grays in Essex will begin a 3700 mile funraising trip for the SOS Children charity.

Fransen will ride through France, Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Senegal to arrive at Bakoteh, in Gambia, 20 days later. The destination is the SOS Children’s Village in Bakoteh provides orphan and abandoned children with a home and a stable environment, including a kindergarten, medical centre and school. The facilities are also available to the wider community.

On arrival, the motorcycle being ridden will be donated for use as a teaching aid in the SOS Projects mechanics workshop. To raise money, 1000 limited edition posters have been produced by the University of the Arts London with the permission of artist Ralph Steadman. To order one, click here (external site).
