World first for classics

Tickets for an event claimed to be the ‘world’s first superlative concours d’elegance exclusively for motorcycles’ have gone on sale. And it isn’t on until May 2006.

Legend of the Motorcycle will be held in lavish surroundings of the Ritz-Carlton hotel (close to San Francisco) on California’s Pacific coast and claims to showcase up to 200 of the finest examples of historic bikes from across the world. Three charities will benefit – Special Olympics, Roots Initiative and United Way.

Tickets range from $50 entry fees to $4200 hotel, gala event and hospitality deals (but you’d have to sort out your own flight).

Events include a reception, gala, demo rides, a cigar lounge and more over two days (May 5-6, 2006).
