The kind of bike you ride reveals your preferences for everything from food to body art according to a new survey.

It reveals that Harley riders are more likely to choose a riding route because it’s got a good place to eat along the way while sports bike riders prefer to grab a quick burger.

Harley riders are more likely to have tattoos and body piercings – and choose their restaurant because they fancy the waitress.

The findings are the result of a survey conducted by the biggest bike insurance seller in the States – The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies.

And they also reveal that cruiser riders and sports bike riders have a number of things in common: 95% of all riders acknowledge fellow riders while on the move, the No1 reason to ride for all groups is “freedom” and the vast majority (88%) donate to charity.

Just over two-thirds of riders daydream about riding while at work each day while 18 per cent take a sickie from work to spend the day riding at least once a year.
