Scots target Born Agains

The BBC in Scotland is showing a documentary investigating Born Again bikers on Wednesday night (May 4). We want to hear from those of you north of the border who watch it. Tell us what you think of it.

Post your thoughts on our Have Your Say forums (see links, right).

The programme (at 7pm on BBC1) follows on from the May 4 launch of a Scottish police clamp-down on ‘Born-Agains’ which will use unmarked bikes to seek out speeding riders.

The safety campaign will also reach out through dealers to returning riders.

A spokesman is quoted by the BBC saying bikes constitute “a small percentage of of traffic on the roads” but they figure prominently in crash statistics.

The story, however, fails to explain that bike safety is actually improving – with an overall reduction in the accident rate for motorcyclists shown in the latest figures.
