If you head to the Oliver’s Mount Gold cup races next weekend you’ll not only get to watch some fantastic racing but you’ll have the chance to ride round the circuit and honour road racer David Jefferies at the same time.

The DJ ‘Gold Cup’ Parade will ride in to the circuit before the races start and do two full laps of the track before settling to watch all the race action.

Riders will gather at the Morrisons car park on the A64 at 10am on Sunday 18th September. If you’ve already bought your entry to the racing then you pay an extra £5 to the David Jefferies Foundation to take part, otherwise it’s £20, which includes your entry for the day.

David Jefferies has strong connections with the circuit having won there five times between 1992 and 2001, equalling the all-time winning record of Geoff Duke.

Jefferies grandfather won races there in the 40’s while his father and uncle have both won races in the 70s and 90s.
