MotoGP-based chopper!

1 of 1

Legendary American chopper builder Roland Sands has just nine days to get a 220bhp V5 engine slotted into a frame and then ready for Kenny Roberts Senior to ride at the Laguna Seca MotoGP round.
The idea is to slot the Team Roberts V5 – one of 15 the team built for MotoGP – into a custom bike. The bike is being built as a collaboration between Sands, Team Roberts and the Discovery Channel as part of the Great Biker Build Off television show.

Sands was at the weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with another of his incredible creations, No Regrets. And he’s now on a plane back to America to get into the final building stages of the V5 chopper.
He said: “The bike is going to look like a cross between a 1914 boardtracker and a V5 Gp bike. It’s going to be awesome.”
