Wings, wheels and bikes

1 of 1

Classic race bikes will be a major part of the Wings and Wheels 2006 event at Dunsfold Park in Surrey.

In addition to the Red Arrows, a Battle of Britain Flypast and cars including F1 machinery, there will be mass runway start and parade circuit demonstrations of racing motorcycles from the first British Grand Prix in 1926 up to the present day, with static displays of all bikes in a special paddock area.

The organisers are looking for clubs and owners to get involved in three categories, with Pre-War motorcycles, Road Racing Motorcycles 1945-1960, and Road Racing Motorcycles 1961-1970. There will also be a Modern Superbikes category supported by manufacturers. The organisers hope for at least 200 competition bikes of various ages, plus the Surrey Schoolboys Arena Trials.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Chase Hospice for Children, Brooklands Museum, The Cranleigh Village Hospital Trust and the Surrey Community Foundation.

The event takes place at Dunsfold Park in Surrey on August 27, 2006. For regulation and entry forms call 01932-857381.
