The Disabled Motorcyclists Association has been awarded more than £4,000 by the National Lottery.

The charity, which helps disabled riders by providing guidance, discounts and inspiration from other disabled people will receive £4,800 to help fund training and volunteers’ expenses.

Last year the North-West-based charity received more than 300 requests for guidance and support.

Fiona Beale, chair of The Disabled Motorcyclists Association, said: “This is more good news after our successful attendance at the NEC bike recently and we look forward to supporting our volunteers further as they play a very important part in the charity.”

This grant was awarded from the Lottery’s Awards for All Section and has been given to other charities in the past.
