Video: First tuned 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa unveiling

No motorcycle is more closely associated with tuning than Suzuki’s Hayabusa and this is the first of the new 2008 models to have been given a thorough going-over.

Suzuki America commissioned the machine from Florida-based specialists Custom Sportbike Concepts (CSC), and roped in clothing firm L-R-G, Lifted Research Group, to design and sponsor the bike.

Clear fairing sections reveal the engine, and even the Hayabusa logo in the side is actually clear, and lit from behind so it glows green.

But the use of clear plastic is even more noticeable on the wheels – which have centres made entirely from Lexan to give that the rims are floating.

Glenn Hansen, communications manager at Suzuki America, said:  “Beyond its well-deserved reputation for best-in-class performance, the popularity of the Suzuki Hayabusa can be attributed to the way it has long been embraced by the many facets of popular culture, including fashion, style, music and entertainment.

“Suzuki’s relationship with L-R-G provides us with a not-to-be-missed opportunity to vividly illustrate our iconic sportbike’s storied connection to urban culture.”
