Rammed by a bus

A biker was rammed from behind by a 12-ton bus in a furious road rage incident which temporarily closed the A26 in Kent.

Ken Blythe from East Sussex was riding his Honda CB1300 down the A26 in Tunbridge Wells last November when he overtook a double-decker bus doing 40mph in a 60 zone.

According to Blythe the bus driver attempted to sideswipe him and crossed the white line.

After some gesticulation and, what the bus company is calling “a game of cat and mouse” the biker was hit from behind by the bus.

Blythe said: “I was lifted in the air and pushed along – I couldn’t believe it! He used his bus as an offensive weapon.”

MCN has obtained CCTV footage of the incident from a camera mounted on the front of the bus.

Brighton and Hove Bus Company’s manager Roger French told MCN: “We’ve got all the details of the incident on file and the bike was out of order.

“He was playing cat and mouse with our bus driver and riding dangerously. In fact, when the Police arrived they had to call for reinforcement because the biker was so aggressive.”

The Police were called but have not taken any further actions.
