Charley Boorman has dismissed threats from a militia gang printed in a national newspaper in an exclusive interview with MCN.

Charley Boorman is nearing the end of the 'Long Way Down' trip with fellow film star Ewan McGregor, and reports suggested that Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor would be in danger of an attack from militia gang FLDR when they entered the Republic of Congo.

But Charley Boorman told MCN: "The newspapers and TV like to whip up a frenzy. You can't believe what you read in tabloids - we're not even going anywhere near there."
You can read the full interview with Ewan McGregor, Charley Boorman and TV series' Producers/Directors in next week's MCN - on sale Wednesday July 18.
