Japanese Biker TV ‘Stunt’ Under Fire

1 of 1

Japanese Police have accused the Nippon Television Network (NTV) of encouraging a biker gang to ride recklessly for the cameras to support a story they were running.

On the back of the footage the police arrested 23 youths for riding inappropriately, only for them to find the TV station had contacted some of the youths to tell them they would be there filming if they wanted to get on TV. NTV deny the accusations, however police have records of phone calls made by NTV staff to the youths before the event in July last year.
