Just what does it take to build a Ducati Desmosedici RR road replica?

MCN went inside the factory to find out exactly how the world’s most expensive bike takes shape and what the 1500 lucky owners can expect to find.

These are the best bike builders the Italian firm has. The clamour among the staff to be a part of the Ducati Desmosedici project was intense – but just 20 of the most highly skilled were picked for the job of actually putting the engines together.

Just eight of that 20 are part of the engine assembly team. Each one undertook a month of intensive training to understand the rigorous and meticulous work to build a Ducati Desmosedici – the world’s only MotoGP replica.

Building the Desmosedici RR is split in two – the engines are assembled right outside the top-secret Ducati Corse section of the factory where the engine was originally designed to go racing.
