Aprilia launch motorcycle test ride website

Aprilia is hoping to shake up the way riders arrange to test new models, with the launch of a website dedicated to allowing the public to book a run on several of its 2008 range of motorcycles.

The Experience Aprilia site offers the chance to book a test ride on the RSV1000R and RSV1000R Factory, Tuono 1000R Factory and 1000R, the Shiver, Mana, and SMV750 Dorsoduro.

Aprilia plans to make the bikes available at a series of events throughout 2008, the first of which is scheduled to take place at AMD Motorcycles in Denbigh in early April. Spokesman Miles Taylor says the firm would be taking six demonstrator models to AMD in the firm’s race truck, with another six bikes being made available by the dealer itself.

“I don’t think anyone else is doing this,” Taylor says, referring to the online booking system. “It’s important for us as we’re reconsidering the brand in the light of launching the Mana and Shiver.”
