Bike builders on both sides of the Atlantic are leading a new trend in customising – the veteran or vintage-inspired look.

Their aim is to build original bikes with all the style of original machines, but with the reliability today’s engineering and materials can provide.

UK-based Thomas Harvey is making bikes that mimic Vintage bikes from around 1915, while in the U.S. Miller Motorcycles and Ridley Motorcycles are offering distinct takes on Vintage (or pre-1930) machines. All are available to buy.

	Ridley Motorcycles Ridley Motorcycles has three new bicycle-style machines for 2009 with small 49cc or 70cc engines. Drive comes from a pair of chains – the one on the right driven by the pedals, and the one on the left by the engine. See more pics of the Ridley bikes
