Rossi TT update: Guy Martin reckons Rossi would be unstoppable at the TT

TT Hero Guy Martin has tipped Valentino Rossi to ‘disappear into the distance’ if he ever raced at the Isle of Man TT.

The Hydrex Honda rider who lapped at 128.89mph was speaking exclusively to MCN following the news that MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi will be attending the Isle of Man for this year’s TT.

As broken by MCN, Rossi will be riding a Yamaha R1 in a parade lap on Saturday June 6, but Martin reckons he’d clean-up if the eight-times MotoGP winner ever raced the 37-mile TT course later on in his career.

Martin said: “If Valentino ever did choose to come and race at the TT he’d just disappear. He’d be so quick you’d never even see him.

“It’s great he’s coming to the TT, but I just hope they take him somewhere he can actually enjoy what the TT is about, somewhere quiet by the track, away from all the VIP stuff where he won’t be bothered by people so he can see what it’s all about.

“It’ll be great if he comes and really enjoys it, then maybe he’ll contemplate actually racing here maybe towards the end of his career.”

Asked how good MotoGP riders are compared to TT riders, Martin said: “Rossi is awesome, but then the TT riders are gods, too. Comparing the TT to MotoGP is like comparing squash to soccer. They both use a ball (or bike), but otherwise they’re completely different.”

MCN worked with Dainese and the Isle of Man Government to bring Valentino to the Isle of Man. As part of that arrangement MCN will exclusively be reporting on Valentino’s every move from the Isle of Man TT this year.

Rossi has already said that he thinks Guy Martin has big balls for racing so fast at the TT.
