Akrapovic has just unveiled this new stubby-style silencer for the BMW S1000RR and the tested power figures from the exhaust manufacture show the reality of the inline four-cylinder’s true power.

According to BMW the claimed power is 193bhp but, with the bike’s official launch not until November 16, there hasn’t been any official power recordings of the bike.

However, Akrapovic has now released this power curve showing the benefit of fitting their new slip-on silencer.

The standard rear wheel recording at the Akrapovic test unit for the power figure at the back wheel is 185.53bhp (at 13.119rpm).

With this new slip-on fitted, as seen in the picture, the peak power increases to 188.10bhp (at 13,175rpm).

The silencer will be showcased at the EICMA Show in Milan next week. UK prices are yet to be announced.
