Graham and Elaine at the Ponderosa

1 of 6

What a great day. Me and my partner Elaine left Standon in Hertfordshire at 7am and headed off to the Ponderosa in North Wales.

Using the wonderful A507 to reach the boring M1/M6/M54 then the A5/A483 and into Wales.

The A525 and A542 led us up to the Ponderosa, and what a site!

We arrived at 11am after 196 miles and one stop for fuel. Bikes, bikes and more bikes and still they came.

It was great to see the event so well supported and everybody was friendly and well behaved.

Saw one Plod drive past and two choppers over head all got a cheer or a wave.

Leaving the Ponderosa we headed west towards Bala and Dolgellau – what great roads and views.

Roads, cafes, bars and petrol stations were all packed.

The locals were friendly and must have appreciated the extra income.

The Swallow Falls Hotel was mobbed when we arrived at 3.45pm.

I was glad the Police kept a low profile and did not spoil the day.

I do hope our message has been heard and the locals speak up for us also. All in all a good day with great food, great roads and great company.

I’ll definitely be back. When can we do this again?

With work on Monday we left at 5pm and got home at 9.45pm.

493 miles in total, tired but happy.
