Remarkable day

1 of 1

I only heard about the event three days beforehand from a friend but I’m so glad I made the effort to turn out.

The sight approaching the Ponderosa at 11am was one of “Oh my God, where am I going to park?”

Which in the end was relatively easy although I soon became hemmed in, I didnt care as the weather was good, the mood was electric and everyone had a smile on their face.

Camera in hand I grabbed as many photos as I could, the turnout was unbelievable.

Just as well I didn’t need food or drink, or the loo, the queues where huge, I bet the takings at the Ponderosa where massive that day.

I left there when I could, around 1:30pm and made my way casually to the Swallow Falls and again was greeted with a sea of bikes and happy smiley people everywhere I looked.

En route one or two car drivers got annoyed at the hold ups but we were all in it. I left there at 3:30pm through Betws and down a B road to Conwy with very little company and a chance finally to stop for refreshments.

Only a busy A55 marred the journey home, but I got home full of cheer, stories of the day and a camera full of pics.

I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Praise must go out to those that travelled considerable distances for the day.

As a group, well done. Keith
