Reclaim North Wales from the air

Here’s what thousands of bikers reclaiming North Wales looked like from the air.

Around 10,000 motorcyclists joined our rally to object to heavy-handed police treatment, making the biggest UK motorcycle protest in over 20 years.

This shot shows the Ponderosa Cafe in the Llangollen, just one of several meeting points in the rally.

It was taken by MCN reader Alex Jenkins, 20, from Liverpool. “I was lucky enough to go up in a helicopter with my Grandpa and my mum for his birthday and we just so happened to have a lovely pilot who was kind enough to fly us over the Ponderosa Cafe at just the right time to see the mass of bikers,” she said.

“We were well chuffed -especially my mum who would otherwise have been down on the ground with my step-dad on their new Moto Guzzi 1200.”

MCN staged the rally after the North Wales Police admitted stopping around 400 motorcyclists every summer weekend, including 350 who have committed no offence.
