The past twelve months has seen some blistering racing, riding and releases in the world of motorcycling.

As the year draws to a close, the MCN team look back at what defined another busy year in biking.

Here are our highlights of 2010:

“Being one of the few journalists in the world to ride a bike at night under the floodlights of Qatar's Losail circuit at the ZX-10R launch.”
Chief Road Tester Trevor Franklin

“Going to the Faak Am See bike rally in Austria and seeing lots of young custom riders. It was great to see that motorcycling is for the young and not just the over 50s.”
Deputy Editor Ped Baker

“When Jorge Lorenzo got to meet me at the IOM TT and we rode two laps together around the closed circuit.”
Editor Marc Potter

“Josh Brookes jumping the mountain at Cadwell. Awesome.”
Sports Editorial Assistant Colleen Dixon

“Watching Ben Spies race in MotoGP.”
Freelance Sub Rich Beach

“Finally managing to kick-start my Bonneville into life after freezing my ass off in the garage all winter rebuilding its top end. It’s a moment you can savour yourself here…”
Production Editor Mark Holmes

“North Wales Police agreeing to stop randomly pulling over hundreds of motorcyclists every weekend, following our Reclaim North Wales rally.”
Senior Reporter Steve Farrell

“The Tiger 800. It’s my kind of bike… even if it does look like a BMW.”
Senior Production Editor Simon Brown

“Watching the riders tackle the new Area section of Silverstone on the MotoGP practice day.”
Bikes Editorial Assistant Alison Silcox

“The rise and rise of the European manufacturers: BMW, Triumph, Ducati, and seeing them take on the Japanese again. It was unthinkable just a few years ago.”
Executive Editor Phil West

“Being proved right when Rossi moved to Ducati, which we’d reported on seven weeks before anyone else.”
Senior Editor John Westlake

“Getting the spy shots of the Diavel leaving the Ducati factory in Bologna back in August.”
Senior Reporter Andy Downes

“Riding with Freddy Spencer at Mallory’s Festival of 1000 bikes”
Senior Reporter Chris Newbigging

“Seeing LSL’s custom W800 at the Cologne bike show. It looks trick, a custom builder’s dream.”
Photographer Ian Jubb

“The return of the CBR600F. It topped our Top Five Bikes that Deserve a Comeback list, so it was great to see Honda resurrect it.”
Web Producer James Keen

“Watching the Ulster GP, it was the most incredible day’s racing ever.”
Sport Editor Gary Pinchin

“Going to the IOM TT. Watching mad, absolute nutjobs race around and then riding over the mountain myself. I nearly crashed in an off-course back lane, but managed to save it.”
Junior Web Producer Liam Marsden

“Finishing on the podium at the Goodwood Revival alongside McWilliams and Steve Brogan.”
Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves
