Mattie Griffin can do a range of stunts most people could never achieve with all the room in the world – and to further humble the rest of us, he’ll be performing it all in a confined indoor arena.
The Live Action Arena has played host to some of the stunt world’s greatest riders – Christian Pfeiffer and AC Farias are just two of the big names who have brought there skills to the Docklands venue.
Now homegrown, up-and-coming Griffin will follow in their rubber trails by showing what he’s made of throughout the show.
The indoor arena’s lower grip levels compared to outdoor tarmac venues usually causes a change of routine for some riders – but Mattie reckons his experience riding indoors means he can ride around it.
“I am really looking forward to doing the Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show for the first time.
"I don’t plan to change my routine for the indoor arena - I have worked in pretty small areas in the past.
“It does make a lot more work for me because you don’t get time to think! As soon as you complete a trick you have to have to get right into the next, and you have no run off area if you make a mistake!
“From my experience indoor arenas are much slipperier so it will take a lot more concentration, but I still plan entertain and to carry out all my tricks for this show and keep the visitors on their toes throughout my show!”
Griffin’s full repertoire of wheelies, stoppies and tyre-smoking tricks is worth a watch – but keep an eye out for his signature move, which is explained below.
