Hi vis nonsense

I work as a spark on the motorways of Greater Manchester and have been on many health and safety courses.

We have to wear hi vis uniforms and it has been said that the hi vis vests draw the eye so much so that people are attracted to it.

There is no evidence supporting the the need for hi vis, why don’t they address pot holes, or bad drivers instead?

In the ten or so years I have worked on the motorway there have been no deaths when we just wore hi vis tops and jeans. But there have been four deaths while wearing hi vis top to toe.

I believe hi vis gets lost in bright light but black at lease gives you a silhouette.
