Biking celebs complete National Road Rally

Former Hollyoaks actor and bike nut Stuart Manning completed the Express Insurance National Road Rally at the weekend, along with road racer James McBride and 650 other entrants.

Manning completed the 120-mile Sunrise Rally, which had a 4.30am start, on a KTM RC8 to raise money for Mencap, while other entrants competed on a range of motorcycles, scooters and sidecars. 

Manning said, “With the very early start I was pleased to see so many enthusiastic riders taking part. The National Road Rally is a fantastic opportunity to take get out with like-minded riders and experience some of the best roads that the country has to offer.

“I’m looking forward to 2011 already.”

Former British Superbike champion and current World Superbike racer Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne was also there. Shakey had been set to complete the Sunrise Rally, but a crash during official testing for WSB series the week left him nursing a badly cut hand. He was meeting and greeting as riders crossed the finish line.
