Former motorcycle stunt rider Eddie Kidd is set to complete the London Marathon almost two months after setting off to raise money for Children with Cancer UK.

Kidd was seriously injured and left with permanent brain damage after a stunt went wrong at the Bulldog Bash in Warwickshire in 1996 after he jumped the drag strip. Despite his serious disability he will finish the 26 mile course later today.

Kidd has been walking up to a mile each day with a specially-built walking frame and hopes to raise £100,000. He has so far raised £65,000 and hopes to finish at The Mall in London later this afternoon (Monday) after setting off on April 17. He spent months training for the event.
