New meeting place for Brussels protest

MCN’s Brussels protest ride now has a new meeting point.

At the request of Belgian police, riders will gather in a prestigious park opposite the European Commission instead of outside European Parliament.

The new meeting place is Jubelpark, Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels 1000. Find it pinpointed by the green arrow here: http://g.co/maps/y3nmk

Those arriving at the original meeting place will be redirected.

Riders are asked to gather in Parc du Cinquantenaire at 2pm local time, half an hour later than the original meeting time to allow for those redirected.

A protest ride starting at 2.30pm will be led by police on a half-hour route through the city ending outside European Parliament on Place du Luxembourg, where it is hoped MEPs will come out and meet motorcyclists to hear their concerns.

After a short stop, the ride will then return to Parc du Cinquantenaire.

Up to 100 motorcyclists will be permitted to take part in the police-led ride. Others are asked to wait in the park until the ride returns, at which point everyone can congregate outside the European Commission buildings on Rue de la Loi.
