Hailwood lid sells for £6250!

The actual helmet worn by the late, great Mike Hailwood during his final TT in 1979 has sold at auction for a whopping £6250.

The full face Kangol Falcon, in Mike the Bike’s distinctive white, gold and red livery, complete with battle scars, bug splats and the 1979 TT scrutineer’s sticker, was on sale at the huge Bonhams sale at the weekend’s Stafford Classic bike show.

One of the other highlights of the sale was the famed ‘Moby Dick’ 1928 Brough Superior SS100 which sold for a massive £210,500.
