UK Government to match every donation to Riders for Health

Riders for Health has launched an appeal in which every donation made by a UK citizen until September will be matched by the UK Government, doubling its impact.

The money raised by this appeal will help Riders to improve access to vital health care for thousands more people across Africa.

Riders for Health is the official charity of MotoGP and mobilises health workers with reliable motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles and trains them in basic maintenance so that they can reach rural communities with health care on a regular basis.

CEO of Riders for Health, Andrea Coleman said: “Every donation we receive will help us to keep a health worker on the road. Very simply, this appeal will save lives. And by matching every donation, the government have helped to ensure that we can have a huge impact on people’s lives in Africa.”

British MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow will be helping Riders to officially launch the appeal on stage at Day of Champions on Thursday June 14. Cal has been joined by a number of top MotoGP riders in a special video encouraging people to get behind the appeal.

The video will be shown throughout the British MotoGP weekend, and can be seen on the Riders for Health website and below.
