GoPro Hero3 HD launched

1 of 1

GoPro has today launched their latest and most advanced onboard camera, the HD Hero3.

GoPro say the new camera is 30% smaller and 25% lighter than the Hero2.

Three variations will be available; the top of the range Black Edition, the ‘prosumer grade’ Silver Edition and the budget White Edition.

The range-topping Black Edition is capable of recording cinema-quality 4K (3840×2160) and 4k-Cin (4096×2160). But although this sounds impressive the camera will only allow you to shoot 15fps and 12fps respectively in these modes.

The Black Edition is capable of shooting at a resolution of 2.7K at a rate of 30fps. 1080p can be shot at 60fps, while 720p can be shot at an impressive 120fps, which is getting into super-slo-mo territory.

The Black Edition will cost £379.99, the Silver £279.99 and the White £199.99 when they go on sale in November.
