MCN Awards 2012

1 of 6

The Imperial War Museum, Duxford, provided the stunning backdrop for last night’s 2012 MCN Awards, as dignitaries from the motorcycle industry joined senior MCN staff under the wings of Concorde in anticipation of winning a coveted trophy.

The majority of the awards were presented early in the evening, with the headline honour of ‘Machine of the Year’ being presented after dinner to BMW’s Ian Furse in recognition of the S1000RR’s class-defining ability.

It’s the second time that the S1000RR has scooped the award, having also taken the accolade its debut year, 2010.

As Triumph marks its 110th Anniversary, they had further cause for celebration after scooping the prestigious ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ honour, in addition to the Tiger Explorer taking an individual class win for ‘Best adventure bike’.

For the full stories behind the award winners, pick up the new issue of MCN, which is on sale now.
