In this week's MCN, out February 20th, we have a world-exclusive first test of the new Honda CBR500R and CB500F

Also this week: World first test of Ducati's new Hypermotard, KTM readies 'the Beast,' and we have a used ZX-10 test special.

In sport: All the analysis and insight following the first round of WSB 2013, and the latest on the future of WSB Silverstone.

All the latest news from this week in biking, including KTM's new 1290 'Beast' spotted in testing, BMW unveil HP race parts including a 220bhp S1000RR engine, and we talk to the dealers already taking deposits for Honda's fabled RCV road replica.

Great Expectations
A lot's expected of Honda's new trio of 500 twins. Designed to appeal to a new generation of riders by complying with the new A2 license/47bhp restriction and boldly built down to a sub £5k price in Thailand, it'd be easy to write them off as dull and basic. The proof of the pudding comes in our world first ride...

Still Crazy...
Ducati's sexy take on the supermoto has been with us since 2007, but now there's a new one, replacing both the 1100 Evo and entry-level 796. It's more powerful but promises to be less manic. We went to its world launch and rode it on the mountain roads of southern Spain and also took the SP version for a spin around the Ascari race track.

My Mate Barry
BBC MotoGP commentator and former Grand Prix racer Steve Parrish was Barry Sheene's best mate, and a man with whom the double world champion shared everything - the same sense of humour, race team, taste in women and a suitcase of scurrilous tales. After getting his initial leg-up in racing from Sheene in 1974, Parrish went on to play wingman to the great man in good times and the bad.

The Original Animal
Only recently has the ZX-10 had any real track success yet the Ninja 1000 has remained a firm favourite with sports bike fans who were brave enough to take the Kawasaki route. The original 04 was an angry animal, and powerful successors have followed, albeit a little tamer. The big ZX-10R has always had power, always been aggressive, but which is which? We find out.

New WSB Boss says 'We're All Winners'
Last October MotoGP owners Dorna took control of the World Superbike Championship, ending years of wrangling between the two series. But while it could be good for racing to have the two series working in harmony, critics feel that the two will ultimatly be merged and fans robbed of WSB racing.

Laverty Top of the World
After a year of racing in the shadow of Max Biaggi in the factory Aprilia squad, Eugene Laverty has been unleashed in 2013. With a year of experience with the RSV4 he has the knowledge, bike and team to deliver and as a result has been widely tpped by his peers. At Phillip Island he showed them they were right, with an emphatic performance say him leave with a win, a second, and the championship lead.
