Bikers recognised in New Years Honours List

Motorcycle dealer and long time backer of motorcycle racing Colin Appleyard is one of four people from the motorcycle world honoured by the Queen in the New Year’s Honours list.

Appleyard has been involved in all levels of racing both on and off road for many years and is highly respected in the racing world. He has now been awarded an OBE.

Three other names less well known by many include Agnes Cadger, Club  Secretary of the Scottish Classic Racing Motor Club for her services to motorcycle racing; she has been awarded an OBE.

Wynn Evans has been involved with Manx motorsport since 1980, voluntarily serving as a welfare officer and providing support to injured riders and the families of those who lose their lives in competition. She became the welfare officer of the Manx Grand Prix in 1998 and for the TT Races in 2000. She has been awarded an MBE.

The final name linked to motorcycling is Graham Shaw, Assistant Chief Driving Examiner at the Driving Standards Agency who has been awarded an OBE for services to motorcycle safety.
