Used bike spotlight: Mini sportsbikes

Published: 02 October 2015

Earlier this week, Honda unveiled a lightweight supersport concept model, which the firm say will be called the CBR250RR

Here are some of the best mini sportsbikes up for sale at right now.

Aprilia RS250, £4,950
The Aprilia RS250 was one of the very last two-stroke sportsbikes, and also one of the best thanks to the Suzuki RGV250 V-twin motor and an amazingly capable chassis. This example, built in 2000, has covered 12,000 miles and comes with Arrow exhausts, new tyres and many other new parts. The engine was rebuilt at 9000 miles.

Kawasaki ZXR400, £2,995
The Kawasaki ZXR400 is ight, stumpy, extremely revvy and a fabulous handler. It’s not big, it’s not particularly clever, but show it some well surfaced bends and it’ll show you how good handling can be. £2,995 might sound like a lot, but you'll soon forget the price when you get to a nice set of bends.

Honda VFR400, £3,999
The most desirable of the 400cc sportsbikes, most likely due to the resemblance to its older brother, the iconic RC30. The NC30 handles well and doesn't have to be thrashed everywhere thanks to a flexible V4 engine. Prices are rising, especially for well looked after examples, so be quick!
