Learn from John Hopkins’ data engineer

Reactive Suspension is holding a two-day data logging course on March 21-22 under the intruction of Bob Gray, John Hopkins’ crew chief for 2016. The course is aimed at club or national racers and mechanics who want to learn how to use data to go faster and improve bike setup.

Bob has been involved with BSB teams for the past 16 years as a technical advisor, data technician and crew chief and has deep knowledge of engine management systems.

The course has been developed by Gareth Evans of Reactive Suspension after customers asked for more support than he could deliver in any weekend: “A number of riders wish that we could be at the track to help them analyse data, as they don’t understand how to use their bike’s system. Unfortunately it’s not physically possible for us to attend every event in the UK.

“Through attending our suspension courses a significant number of riders are now maintaining and tuning their own suspension,” says Gareth. “Working with Bob we are able to offer the same hands-on training in the field of Data Analysis.”

Over the two days there will be specific sessions on:

  • How data loggers and sensors work
  • Selecting parameters to ensure the most efficient use of the system
  • Grouping channels to analyse performance in an easy-to-use format
  • Practical exercises on gathering and analysing data
