Top adventure bikes at 2017 MCN Motorcycle Show

The adventure bike class shows no signs of slowing, with plenty of new globetrotting machines updated or released for 2017. These are our pick of the best adventure bikes on display at the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show this weekend.

BMW R1200GS Rallye
 

The Rallye bridges the gap between the standard GS and the big Adventure with a thinner seat, smaller screen and wide enduro-style footpegs. Cross-spoke laced rims come as standard for improved off-road capability and owners can spec the Rallye to arrive on off-road tyres. 

Honda X-ADV

The new Honda X-ADV boasts a rugged body and elevated stance which Honda claim gives it an ‘off-road ready attitude’. There’s 17in front and 15in rear wheels, a tall 820mm seat and 21 litres of storage, a five-way adjustable screen, Africa Twin handguards and Rally-style instruments. Utterly nuts.

KTM 1290 Adventure S/R
 

Austrian off-road experts KTM have updated their Adventure range for 2017, upping power to 160bhp and capacity to 1290 in both the off-road focused R model and road focused S. Both bikes come complete with the latest rider aids, including cornering ABS and there’s no doubt despite their size they’ll be more than capable on the rough stuff.

Ducati Multistrada 950
 

The spec is impressive on the new 950, Ducati have gifted it fully-adjustable suspension, and their unique Ducati Safety Pack that includes three level ABS and eight level traction control. It’s a great recipe, and an impressive bike.
