Stoner, Checa and Capirossi Desmos fire up at London show

There’s nothing quite like standing next to a Grand Prix machine as it fires up. It’s a spine tingling, goose bump inducing, eardrum rattling explosion of the senses. For most of us it’s the closest we’ll ever get to riding one and gives a sense of what it must be like for our GP heroes as they’re about to climb aboard and disappear down a pit lane.

At the 2017 Carole Nash MCN Motorcycle Show no less than three genuine Grand Prix Ducati Desmosedicis will spark into life, the 990cc Ducati GP3 ridden by Capirossi in 2003 (the bike in the video above), the 990cc GP5 ‘big bang’ GP5 ridden by Carlos Checa in ’05 and Casey Stoners 800cc GP8 (the bike that Stoner won the 2008 British Grand Prix on).

All three Desmosedicis will be fired up on the Saturday (Feb 18) and be on display for the duration of the show on the Sports and Performance stage.
