Alongside the announcement that four new 1000cc MV Agusta models are on the way, MV boss Claudio Castiglioni also announced the return of the Cagiva brand as an electric bike manufacturer. Swedish brand Cake recently released the Kalk, which is an 80kg electric motorcycle that makes 20bhp, so we assume it will be similar to this.

The first electric Cagiva will be unveiled at EICMA in November and is expected to go on sale in mid-2019. Interestingly, Cagiva are planning on making their bikes ‘affordable’ rather than too pricey, something that may see them considering a battery leasing scheme to cut the price of their bikes.
