Silverstone Auctions Devitt MCN London show sale proved the allure of classic motorcycles is not on the decline, selling 80% of the lots for a cool £850k.

Among the 147 lots there were classics for every budget, ranging from an unrestored 1971 Montesa Cota 247cc which sold for £618 to a 1994 Ducati 888 Corse 926cc race bike which sold for £47,250 and everything in between.

Two factory prepared 1000cc racers were also up for grabs with Guy Martin and Steve Mercer’s 2013 Suzuki GSX-R1000 BSB and TT competitor selling for £19,687.

Colin Edwards’ 2013 Kawasaki FTR MGP13 GP bike meanwhile fetched £30,417.

Notable bargains were a beautiful 1994 Honda RVF400 NC35 Paddy Reid TT-replica which could have been yours for £3500, while a second generation 1973 Laverda 750 SF1 750cc, ‘Super Freni’, albeit in need of a refresh, sold for £2,812.

Silverstone Auctions treats lined up for The Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show

There are 150 fantastic reasons for classic bike fans to head to the Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show over the weekend of February 17-19, with the news that leading auction house Silverstone Auctions are bringing 150 very special auction lots to sell. With machines including barn finds, rare road bikes and sublime race machinery there’s something for every pocket. 

The Sale takes place on Saturday February 18 with viewings available on Friday. You’ll also be able to see some of the machines in action as they’re fired up and sent down the all-new Supersprint course on Friday.
