The Highway to Well: Pastor leads charity ride for children's hospice

A biking cleric is gearing up to lead a mass charity ride-out to Land’s End in a bid to raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West charity.

Dubbed the ‘Highway to Well’ the event was debuted last year and proved successful despite poor weather – attracting 35 riders and raising over £700 to help care for children with life-threatening conditions via three hospices in Devon, Somerset, and Cornwall.

It’s hoped that this year’s event on Saturday, June 18, will be bigger and is again being organised by Harley-riding Pastor Israel Stanway of Hayle Light & Life Free Methodist Church in Cornwall.

The ride will start at 1pm at the playing fields at RNAS Culdrose naval station before riding down to The Lizard. The convoy will then head north and west to Land’s End where they will be met by a rock band and a ‘Best in Show Trophy Competition’ will be held.

A minimum donation of £10 per bike is expected. For more, head to the Highway to Well Facebook page.
