Used bike showroom with 'great model mix' moves into former Pidcock BMW site in Nottingham

As motorcycle dealers seem to be closing left, right and centre, a new destination has recently opened at the site of the now-closed Pidcock BMW, which entered administration in October 2024.

The Long Eaton site now goes by Bikers Nottingham, having been purchased by Moto GB – a process that was able to save the jobs of five former Pidcock staff members.

The site on Fields Farm Road no longer stocks new BMWs, but instead deals in various brands of used bikes, as well as new machines from the likes of Benelli and Voge.

Doors opened under the new ownership on March 1, attracting local bikers in their hundreds to check out the revitalised site.

“The response on the day was fantastic – more than we could have hoped for really, considering that we’re fresh out of the blocks,” said Sales Manager, Andrew Murphy.

“I suspect around 200 turned up on the opening day, which is incredible. I know there’s a stark difference in the clientele that we’re going after compared with the former Pidcock owners, so it’s a different environment, but there was a lot of positive response.”

The site is now open six days a week, from 09:00-17:30 weekdays and 09:00-17:00 on Saturdays. Current stock numbers around 200 machines, covering everything from small-capacity scooters through to a 25th-anniversary Suzuki Hayabusa with only 3 miles on the clock.

“We have a great model mix, in particular with small bikes,” Murphy added. “The 125cc market didn’t exist within any of the brands that were under Pidcock’s roof, that’s one big advantage we have, and I know from working for seven years for Potteries Motorcycles that an inordinate number of sales come from the small-capacity market.”
