Famous North Wales biker café bids farewell to loyal customers and closes its doors for good

A famous North Wales café, popular with bikers, has announced it won’t be opening for the new season. Located on the Horseshoe Pass in Llangollen, the Ponderosa Café will now close after 42 years in the trade.

The café closed in November for maintenance, but the family-run establishment will now not re-open. Owners Simon and Sam Clemence took to Facebook to say: “It is with a heavy heart we announce that the Ponderosa shall not be re-opening at this present moment in time. We would like to take this opportunity and thank our loyal customers.

“There are many other cafés you could have chosen, but you chose us, and for that, we are deeply grateful. A big, heartfelt thank you goes out to the biking community for their unflinching support through many ups and downs during the years that we have been at the Ponderosa.

“We would also like to thank our staff, past and present. We could not have accomplished our success without you and would like to express our deep sense of gratitude to each and every one of you.
