Centenary Manx celebrations set for centre stage at London Show

The countdown to the 2023 Manx Grand Prix will begin in earnest in just a few weeks’ time when the event takes centre stage at the Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show, from 17-19 February at the ExCeL Arena. 

To celebrate the announcement, some of the event’s star names will be in attendance at the Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show, including John McGuinness MBE, Lee Johnston, Dominic Herbertson, and 2022 Senior Manx Grand Prix winner, Stephen Smith. 

As well as announcements of the special centenary celebrations, the weekend will also see the release of Official Grandstand Tickets for the 2023 Manx Grand Prix and the launch of a range of limited-time travel offers courtesy of official partner, Duke Travel.

Manufacturers are beginning to announce their bike line-ups for February’s Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show with Triumph being the latest big name to reveal a stunning list of machines on display.

A highlight for many will be the British firm’s limited edition Street Triple Moto2 machine, a pure thoroughbred with race inspired ergonomics, carbon bodywork, Moto2 graphics and individually numbered top yoke. 60th anniversary James Bond display at Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show

Triumph will be bringing along five extra special machines to London in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the James Bond movie franchise. Two of the bikes, a Tiger 900 and Scrambler 1200XE were used in the recent film ‘No Time to Die’ and ridden in the film’s spectacular opening scene in the Southern Italian city of Matera. The anniversary display will also feature three special edition machines; the Tiger 900 Bond Edition, Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition and the Speed Triple 1200 RR 60th Anniversary Bond Edition.

Guy Martin and Colin Edwards bikes up for auction at Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show

Silverstone Auctions will be bringing over 150 machines to auction live at the London show including two stunning race bikes previously ridden by American Colin Edwards and road racing icon Guy Martin.

The Edwards machine is his Kawsaki FTR MGP13 MotoGP bike ridden by the Texas Tornado in the 2013 season, his final year in MotoGP. The MGP13 is completely hand-built and originally tuned by the French based tuning company Akira with an available power of 245+bhp and a weight of 157kg. Auction estimate is £35000-£40000

The Guy Martin Tyco Suzuki British Superbike was developed and built for PJ Jacobson’s first Superbike season in 2013 and used by Martin in the Isle of Man TT and all his other road events that year (Ulster Grand Prix, North West etc). Subsequently obtained by Team Traction Control (under the ownership of the late Keith Flint – front man of the band the Prodigy) and campaigned at the Ulster GP and at the teams first TT appearance in 2014 by Steve Mercer. Full specification and highly maintained thoroughbred race bike which cost in excess of £80k to build and features factory-developed technology rarely available at club level. Auction estimate of £20000-£25000.

2023 is shaping up to be a huge year for new bike launches and the Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle show is the best place to see them. Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show relaunches with a spectacular indoor drag strip!

Big changes are happening next February – the UK’s best-loved bike event is undergoing a radical revamp including a drag strip running down the entire length of the exhibition hall and a brand new title sponsor, Devitt Insurance!

Called the Supersprint, the drag strip will feature everything from classic bikes, new 2023 models and pukka Grand Prix bikes fired down the hall in a cacophony of noise and explosive speed. You’ll be close to the action as the bikes speed through the centre of the hall within touching distance of the crowds.
